10 Gift Ideas for a Street Photographer

1. Street Photography Now by Sophie Howarth and Stephen McLaren (Oct 2010)
This is one of my favorite photography books of the year. There are plenty of photos that will surely inspire amateurs and pros alike.

3. Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5
This is a great pocket camera for quick snaps. I like being able to quickly change the aspect ratio between 1:1, 4:3, 3:2 and 16:9. It has a wonderful, fast f/2.0 Leica lens. Because it has a small sensor, don't expect it to compete in quality with a DSLR. It's great for street because it's small, quiet and not very noticeable. (except to other photographers). It's a lot less expensive than the Leica D-Lux 5 which is a very similar camera.

4. Henri Cartier-Bresson: The Modern Century by Peter Galassi, Henri-Cartier Bresson
Thrilling, stunning photography. It also makes any coffee table look a bit classier.

5. Personal Best by Elliott Erwitt
Beautiful photos often with a twist of humor.

6. Giottos Rocket Air Blaster
Dust on the lens is a bad thing that can take a bit of sharpness and clarity out of your photos. Dust can also cause the lens to flare. This is great to have for safely cleaning gear, dusting off negatives before scanning, and for odd jobs around the house. ;) In your camera bag, it can also act as a cushion around gear.
